Christmas Giveaway

As you've probably worked out from my poor attempt to recreate a playbill, I'm having a giveaway for Christmas. And before you start asking, yes this is open internationally :)

There's a lot of Christmas polishes around at the moment, but I still couldn't find exactly what I wanted to wear on my nails for Christmas day. I asked Angela from Gloss 'n Sparkle if she would kindly make me a custom polish, and even though she's a super busy lady she came to my rescue. Thanks Angela! So, in the Nailed Obsession spirit I've named the polish 'Christmas Obsession' and I have two bottles, one for me, and one for a very lucky reader (yep, that's you guys!).

In order for the polish to reach the winner by Christmas the giveaway will close on December 8th (since everyone is in different time zones keep an eye on the entry form for an exact time). The winner will then have 48 hours to respond to my email before I'll re-draw. Australia Post have advised me that the package will make it to the winner before Christmas if I send it express by the 12th. I'm somewhat sceptical, but I'll take their word for it.

So, I guess you're interested to see what it is I've asked Angela to put in this exclusive polish. Here's some swatches I've done up on my nail wheel (I wanted to save wearing mine on my nails until Christmas!). Unfortunately it was overcast this morning so I couldn't capture the true sparkliness of this polish, but there's holo silver stars, red and green hexes, smaller silver hexes, and micro gold glitter.

L-R: 1 coat over OPI's 'Black Onyx', Essie's 'Blanc', and OPI's 'Glitzerland'

After taking photos I realised that the stars were all in the same position on each nail. I swear I didn't place them there, Gloss 'n Sparkle glitters are just very well trained!

And finally, the moment you've been waiting for, the entry form. I've listed terms and conditions below the form so please give them a read before entering. I will be moderating the entries to make it fair for everyone, so please play nice, it's Christmas after all and you don't want to end up on Santa's naughty list!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

TERMS & CONDITIONS:
  • Giveaway is open until December 8th 2012, 12:01am EST
  • The winner will be notified by email and will have 48 hours to respond. Failure to respond within this time frame will result in a re-draw.
  • I WILL be moderating the entries. If your number is drawn for something that you haven't completed, I will re-draw a new winner. This isn't because I'm mean, it's simply to make it fair for everyone who's entered and have done the right thing.
  • This giveaway is open internationally, however if you know that you have trouble getting nail polish into your country please don't enter.
  • I've done my best to ensure that the polish will make it to you by Christmas by consulting Australia Post, however once the package leaves my hands I have no control over it. Should the polish arrive after Christmas please remember that it's not my fault!
  • I won't be held responsible for any taxes/fees that may need to be payed when the item enters your country, these will be the responsibility of the winner.
  • I won't be held responsible for any breakages during shipping. I will wrap the items to the best of my ability to avoid breakages, but please bear in mind that postage handlers aren't always careful.
  • I won't be held responsible for any lost or stolen packages. Unfortunately these things do occasionally happen and they are out of my control.
  • If you have any questions feel free to email me: nailedobsession@gmail.com

    1. Ouch. Was it from a man? Because if there's one thing I've learnt from working in intimate apparel it's that they have no perception of women's sizing lol

  4. Worst ever was a plastic vase with horribly fake orchids in it...the thing was 3 feet tall.....I think it explains itself as to why it was so horrible!

  5. Um...I've actually been really lucky and never got any really bad presents, but a couple of the ones my dad has given me have been a bit...odd lol. Let's just say that sometimes he still seems to think I'm about 10 years old!!

  6. Fabulous giveaway!
As my birthday is close to Christmas the worse pressies I got as a kid were always combined Christmas/birthday pressies in the form of an IOU to go shopping in the Christmas sales. Usually by the time we went shopping my parents had forgotten about the IOU and the fact that I hadn't had a present for either occasion but one year I did get a $10 bag from the sales.

    1. Oh that sucks! I always get IOU's to go shopping too, but my Aunty actually remembers to take me haha

  10. I haven't really celebrated xmas in years (since I was a little kid) - so usually get a box of chocolates (which is definetly not bad) - worst birthday present is from my dad (when he remembers) was a pair of ugly earrings in gold (I only wear silver jewellery). Follwing year, I received a matching necklace. Nice

    1. I only wear silver too. Or white gold. Jewelery is a hard one to buy I think.

  13. I don't think I've ever really gotten a bad present, but my sister did get a really weird one. She got a candle when she was 7 in a school present swap. And all the other kids were getting toys, so she was pretty disappointed.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Lol she probably got it from one of those kids who didn't tell their parents about the swap til the night before!

  18. Got a really terrible store-brand eyeshadow palette from Belk from my brother for Christmas one year. :P His heart was in the right place, but it was the absolute worst quality and color selection. Went to return it and only got 1 cent back for it after the day-after Christmas sales had started. ...It was still worth returning.

  19. I got wool stilongs or other wool clothes to wear under other clothes year after year from my mother, although she knew that I couldn't wear wool, and that it wasn't on my wish list.

  23. Guys I can't keep up with all your comments so I might not reply to everyone on this post, but please know that you're all keeping me thoroughly entertained with your bad presents lol.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hmm... This is a tricky one! I've blanked most awful presents from my mind, but I remember that my aunt who lives overseas used to send me all these dresses when I was really little, but she had no idea what I liked so it just ended up being things that I would never wear. It was sad more than bad though, I appreciated the effort but it made me sad to open my wardrobe and see them hanging there!

  25. I made my mom made one year and i received a pack of maxi pads for christmas.

    ReplyDelete
  26. My worst Christmas present was a mustard yellow sweater that looked about 2 sizes too big...then I had a look at the tag and figured out it was a men's sweater! Whoops, nice try step-dad, but yellow is not my color :/

    ReplyDelete
  27. The worst present I ever got was a bunch of old geography textbooks and a fake plant. Granted, they were white elephant gifts, so they were supposed to be bad, but still.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Worst christmas present I've ever received was probably...hand cuffs from a sex shop given to me by my dad. They did eventually come in handy though. ;P

    ReplyDelete
  29. The worst present I've ever gotten was some batteries. I think my mom forgot to do stockings and instead of skipping, looked around the house to find some stuff to put in them... :P

    ReplyDelete
  30. The worst Christmas present I ever got was tickets to see the favourite band of my boyfriend at the time... needless to say I wasn't impressed...

    ReplyDelete
  31. Food from our own cupboard. Worst because it was simply taken out of a jar of candy we have lol!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Honestly, I appreciate everything I always get, even if it takes me years later to appreciate it. The only thing I can say is my mom tends to pick out clothes for me which awful, but I always wear them anyway :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. I received earrings! Not bad, you say, right?? But what if I do not have my ears pierced? :))

    ReplyDelete
  34. The worst christmas present I ever received was a hip hop cd. It contained lots of swearing, which my younger brother and sister loved so they insisted on listening to it in the car all the time. I don't like hip hop. Not a big fan of swearing in my music either. It was just not my thing at all. But at least my siblings enjoyed it. :P

    ReplyDelete
  35. I don't get worst presents because I don't get ANY presents! Lol :(

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm way past the age for presents and I tend to try appreciate all presents I receive because I know the person went into an effort to gift it to me (whether large or small anyway :P)

  40. My worst one was when Santa accidentally mixed up the CDs he wanted to give me and my brother! I got Ocean Colour Scene while he got my Corrs CD! I was young enough to presume Santa had just had one too many sherries ahahaha! Needless to say, we made a hasty swap later that day! :D

    ReplyDelete
  43. Christmas time depression is the worst :/

    ReplyDelete
  44. It was last year, unfortunately, the first Christmas after my parents divorced. My dad has no clue what I like even though I'm very vocal about it. His gift giving system is to get people what he likes because he thinks they should like it.

He gave me an Adele CD even though I repeatedly say how much I dislike her music. It's not like I'm hard to pick out music for because I constantly talk about how much I love Sugarland.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I don't remember how old I was, but I was a little girl and I received a BLUE teddy bear for christmas. I was so upset because I figured it was someone elses present and not mine. Now that I am older, I find it ironic that my favorite color is now blue. :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. worst... my stepmother liked to wrap up things i already owned and give them to me.....

    ReplyDelete
  47. Sparkly Christmas sweat suit 2 sizes too big from my boyfriends family the first Christmas I met them...

The next year they wanted to know why I wasn't wearing it. >.<

    ReplyDelete
  48. Maggot-infested chocolate. It was super sad because it was my favorite chocolate. At least it was accidental.

    ReplyDelete
  49. A candle....I didn't really know what to do with it at the time since I don't really use candles haha

    ReplyDelete
  50. My husband got me a little flip camera. I didn't want it. I didn't like it. He gets me electronics because he feels like if he wants it I should want it too. So he got one for himself as well. Needless to say, he carries BOTH around with him at all times and I ended up without a present that year.

    ReplyDelete
  51. okay this was a while back but I was 20 and a size 00 no exaggeration My monster in law asked my boyrfriend at the time what size, she made snide remarks like try eating. Open my gift on xmas and it was a suit in a size 22 plus size.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Maybe it happened to me when I was little, but now I always choose my presents :)

    ReplyDelete
